A fuel oxidation catalyst is provided to realize excellent activity and to enable an oxidative catalytic reaction of fuel to occur even a low temperature, to improve the efficiency of a fuel cell system and to realize excellent cost efficiency. A fuel oxidation catalyst comprises CeO2, MO(wherein M is a transition metal), and a metal oxide including CuO. The transition metal comprises M selected from Ni, Co, Fe and a combination thereof. The fuel oxidation catalyst preferably comprises 10-30 parts by weight of CeO2, 0.1-5 parts by weight of MO, and 1-10 parts by weight of CuO. The metal oxide is supported on a carrier selected from the group consisting of Al2O3, TiO2, SiO2, cordierite and a combination thereof. |
