A clamping nut which can be manufactured at a low cost, has a light weight, and obtains high clamping force, beautiful external appearance, enhanced corrosion resistance, and a product with uniform quality is provided, and a method of manufacturing the clamping nut is provided. A method of manufacturing a clamping nut by forming a rolled steel plate comprises: a process of forming an outer cylindrical part(2) and a flange part(3) by deep drawing to manufacture a clamping nut(1) using a rolled steel plate; a process of forming fixing holes(5) and projecting parts(6) on the outer cylindrical part by swaging, multi-compression drawing, or slitting coining to increase thickness of a wall face of an inner cylindrical part(4); a tapping process of forming a screw part(7) on an inner face of the inner cylindrical part; a process of cleaning and plating a clamping nut having the screw part tapped on the inner face of the inner cylindrical part; and a process of inserting the clamping nut into a material to be joined using the fixing holes and the projecting parts to join and fix the clamping nut to the material to be joined by the press-in process.
