An optical sheet, a backlight unit using the same, and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to improve optical efficiency as well as the efficiency of assembly by replacing a plurality of optical sheets, which are installed in an ordinary backlight unit, with a single optical sheet which is formed of more than two layers having different refractive indexes and a diffusion layer. An optical sheet(161), or a condensing sheet, consists of a first layer(162) and a second layer(163) which have their respective refractive indexes. The first and second layers have refractive indexes of 1.3 to 2.0. In this case, the first layer has a refractive index of 1.3 to 1.9, and the second layer has a refractive index of 1.4 to 2.0. The first layer has a lower refractive index than the second layer. On the first layer, a plurality of first prism patterns(164) are located. Corresponding to the first prism patterns, second prism patterns(165) are located on the second layer.
