Method and apparatus for coding transmit data in a MIMO-OFDM system

The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for coding data to be transmitted by use of a radio system with multiple antennas wherein data symbols to be transmitted in one block of the transmit signal are coded over multiple antennas using a Multiple-Antenna-Coding. In order to find a method the flexibility in the assignment of resources while at the same time minimizing envelope fluctuations, it is proposed that data to be transmitted is precoded using a Non-Redundant Unitary Transformation before applying the Multiple-Antenna-Coding to the transformed elements.
