A test circuit in an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to control a malfunction or an abnormal operation speedily and exactly by internally monitoring major components of an LCD and outputting a result to the system in case an arbitrary component works abnormally. A test circuit in an LCD comprises a timing controller(22), a DC/DC converter(23), a gate driving part(24), a data driving part(25), a backlight unit(27), and a monitoring part(28). The timing controller converts a low-voltage differential signal, inputted from the external, into digital video data and outputs the converted data. Also the timing controller outputs control signals to control the gate driving part(24) and the data driving part. The DC/DC converter generates various driving voltages required for the system. The gate driving part supplies a gate on signal to each of the gate lines of a liquid crystal panel, and the data driving part supplies a data signal to each of the data lines of the liquid crystal panel. The backlight unit supplies backlight to the liquid crystal panel. The monitoring part confirms whether a specific signal is detected from each part. Based on a confirmed result, the monitoring part judges whether an associated part works normally or abnormally, and provides a result to the system. |
