<p>A method and a system for setting initial transmission power automatically through a random access channel are provided to calculate different initial transmission power values automatically in each cell by using parameters set by a system operator, thereby minimizing interference between different adjacent cells caused by excessive initial transmission power and improving a call communication rate. A method for setting initial transmission power automatically through a random access channel comprises the following steps of: setting a constant value automatically according to a first parameter indicating whether to set the constant value automatically for calculating the initial transmission power of a mobile terminal(100) on a mobile communication network(200); transmitting the set constant value to the mobile terminal on the mobile communication network; and calculating the initial transmission power by using the received constant value in the mobile terminal. The constant value is automatically set by using a primary CPICH(Common Pilot Channel) DL(Downlink) Tx(Transmitter) power value, a CPICH_RSCP(Common Pilot Channel_Received Signal Code Power) value, and an UL(Uplink) interference value.</p> |
