摘要 A field emission device and a method for driving the same are provided to secure driving stability of the field emission device by preventing an over-current in an anode electrode. Gate electrodes(12_1,12_2,12_3,12_4) are located on a lower substrate(11) and electrically separated from each other. Cathode electrodes(13_1,13_2,13_3,13_4) are located on the lower substrate and electrically separated from each other. An emitter is located on at least one out of the gate electrodes and the cathode electrodes. An upper substrate(21) is arranged to be opposite to the lower substrate. The upper substrate has an anode electrode. An external power independently provides first pulse voltages to the gate electrodes. The external power independently provides second pulse voltages to cathode electrodes. Each of the gate electrodes and the cathode electrodes has a stripe shape. The stripe of the gate electrode and the stripes of the cathode electrode are alternatively arranged in turn.
