摘要 An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to obtain an active matrix LCD with high reliability, high productivity, and high-resolution. An LCD comprises a gate electrode, a gate line(2), a gate insulating film, a semiconductor layer(10), a source electrode(6b), a source line(6a), a drain electrode(7), and a pixel electrode(9). The gate electrode and the gate line are formed on a transparent insulating substrate. The gate insulating film covers the gate electrode and the gate line. The semiconductor layer is formed on the gate insulating film. The source electrode, the source line, and the drain electrode are formed on the semiconductor layer. The pixel electrode is connected to the drain electrode. The semiconductor layer consists of a TFT part(10b), a source/gate-crossing part(10a), and a connection part(10c). The TFT part contains a TFT. The source/gate-crossing part is formed where the gate line and the source line cross each other. The connection part connects the TFT part with the source/gate-crossing part.
