A light emitting diode block and a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display using the same are provided to connect light emitting diode blocks with each other by inserting a plug into a socket. A light emitting diode block comprises a light emitting diode(120) and a substrate(130). The light emitting diode is mounted on the substrate. The substrate has multi-layered conductive layer and an insulation layer formed between the conductive layers. One of the conductive layers is protruded from the side of the substrate or recessed into the substrate to form a corrugated part(140). The corrugated part includes a plug(142) and a socket(144). The plug is protruded from the side of the substrate. The socket is recessed into the side of the substrate.
