A ballast stabilizer for a discharge lamp is provided to reduce an occupied space and a manufacturing cost by constituting components of the ballast stabilizer as one chip. A ballast stabilizer for a discharge lamp includes a detection unit(200), a control unit(300), a selection unit(400), a first igniter(120), and a second igniter(130). The detection unit detects whether the discharge lamp is turned on or off. The control unit outputs a control signal according to a detection signal from the detection unit. The selection unit selects one of the first igniter or the second igniter according to the control signal from the control unit. The first igniter is operated by the selection unit in a normal operation of the lamp. The second igniter is operated by the selection unit in an abnormal operation of the lamp. |
