A method for the surgical treatment of the congenital large diaphragmatic hernia comprises the laparotomy, the eventration of the hernial content, the suturing of the diaphragmatic defect, and setting the hernial content into the abdominal cavity. Beforehand, the size of the patch of the plastic material is assessed. The prepared patch is sewed around the laparotomic wound to the peritoneum and the aponeurosis. Then the flap of the skin is separated from the underlying tissues. The area of the flap should be sufficient for closure of the defect of the laparotomic wound without stretching and the skin above the patch is sewed up. |
