A power transmitting apparatus and method of a wireless communication system are provided to improve linearity by compensating an input signal of a power amplifier included in an EER(Envelope Elimination and Restoration) power transmitter. An input signal and an output signal of a power transmitting device are detected(301). The power transmitting device checks size and phase characteristics of a high efficiency amplifier by using the input signal and the output signal(303). The power transmitting device extracts the size component and generates a size correction coefficient to linearize the size component through a size correction algorithm(305). The power transmitting device compensates the linearity of the size component by using the size correction coefficient(307). The power transmitting device extracts a phase component according to the size component and generates a phase correction coefficient to linearize the phase component through a phase correction algorithm(309). The power transmitting device compensates the linearity of the phase component by using the phase correction coefficient(311).
