The invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, namely to a method for obtaining of ferrotitanium ingot by arc-jet melting of rutile under layer of protective flux. A method comprises production of consumable electrode by forming and compacting of charge in steel casing, containing rutile, aluminium grit and binding agent – liquid glass. The melting of the consumable electrode under layer coating slag is carried out and ferrotitanium smelt is obtained. The consumable electrode is dried before the supply, in parallel flux is melted by non-consumable graphite electrode. Lime is supplied continuously from batching plant into a bath casting mold. The invention provides increasing of quality of the consumable electrode and ferrotitanium ingot, automation of process for preparation and melting of the consumable electrode. |
