A backlight unit for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a lower case for the backlight unit are provided to make it possible to fix a cable, which connects a backlight control circuit part and an inverter circuit part, to a rear surface of a lower case continuously regardless of external impact. A plurality of cable guides(142,144,146) are formed on a rear surface of a lower case(100) in a protrusion shape. A plurality of lamps are disposed within the lower case. An inverter circuit part(110) and a backlight control circuit part(120) for controlling the driving of the inverter circuit part are mounted on the rear surface of the lower case. A plurality of inverters(112) for controlling the turning on or off of the lamps are mounted on the inverter circuit part. The lower case is partially punched correspondingly to the cable guides. An FPC(Flexible Printed Circuit board) is inserted in inside portions of the cable guides to connect the inverter circuit part and the backlight control circuit part to each other. Thus, the FPC is continuously fixed to the rear surface of the lower case even when an external impact is applied to the FPC. |
