A three-phase submarine cable consists of three coaxial elements in the form of a metal compacted electric conductor, a three-layer insulation made of vulcanized polythene and a plastic jacket. Above the three-layer insulation made of vulcanized polythene it is laid a layer of conductive water-swellable film, the first metal layer being made as a solid lead sheath, the first nonmetal layer in the form of a conductive water-swellable film, the second metal layer in the form of flat or round copper wires, the second nonmetal layer as a conductive water-swellable film and the third metal layer in the form of an alumina polyethylene film. All coaxial elements are twisted together; above it a protective covering is deposited. |
