<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing an amount of toner placement while suppressing degradation in stability and image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an electrophotographic photoreceptor on which an electrostatic image is formed; a developing means provided with a developer carrier which deposits and carries toner to be attached to an electrostatic image formed on the electrophotographic photoreceptor; a transfer means which transfers the toner on the electrophotographic photoreceptor to a transfer material; and a fixing means which fixes the toner transferred to the transfer material onto the transfer material, wherein the amount of toner (M/S)<SB>L</SB>placement on a highest density image part on the electrophotographic photoreceptor, the average electrification amount (Q/M)<SB>L</SB>of toner of the highest density image part on the electrophotographic photoreceptor, and the range of a product between the inclination α of transmission density Dt with respect to the amount of toner placement on the transfer material and the reciprocal of the (Q/M)<SB>L</SB>are specified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
