BACKLIGHT OF LCD DISPLAY USING EXPANSION ILLUMINATING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight of an LCD display which has a color mixing property of a high level necessary for developing a backlight illumination technology and for using a solid light source.

SOLUTION: The backlight device 10 for guiding a light in a direction of a display panel 24 and a display device obtained as a result is provided with an expansion illuminating apparatus 14. The illuminating apparatus is arranged so that a light is guided in a direction of the display panel 24 and a light diffusing element for making uniform the light diverted from a plurality of expansion illuminating apparatuses 14, and the backlight illumination is obtained. In this apparatus, a uniform light distribution in the display can be realized.
