<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio receiver and a radio receiving method capable of surely amplifying a desired signal by suppressing the increase of power consumption in an RF front end part. <P>SOLUTION: The radio receiver for receiving a radio signal of a broadband together with an interference wave that fluctuates with lapse of time has a low noise amplifier (LNA) 3 for amplifying the radio signal in an RF signal band, a mixer 4 for converting an output signal of the low noise amplifier (LNA) 3 into a baseband signal, a lowpass filter (LPF) 6 for extracting only the desired signal by eliminating a frequency component of the interference wave from the baseband signal, received signal strength indicating circuits (RSSI circuits) 9 and 10 for respectively detecting the field strength of an input signal and the field strength of an output signal in the lowpass filter 6, a subtractor 11 for comparing the two field strengths, and a DC-DC converter 12 for controlling power consumption in the low noise amplifier (LNA) 3 in accordance with fluctuations of relative strength of the interference wave to the desired signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
