<p>The method involves forming an extruded section in a following extruding press process. A portion of the extruded section is extended transverse to an extruding press direction (12) during formation of the extruded section. The extruded section is cold formed for the extension of the portion transverse to the extruding press direction. The cold forming is accomplished in the portion of the extruded section at a temperature within the range of approximately 200 degree centigrade. An independent claim is also included for a component i.e. bodywork component for a motor vehicle.</p>
