PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image history keeping method capable of distributing, storing and keeping image data processed in an image forming apparatus in a plurality of image history keeping computers on a network corresponding to the attribute without complicating the control configuration of the image forming apparatus and preventing the generation of the standby state of the image forming apparatus without performing a troublesome address registering operation, an image history keeping system, an image history keeping program and a recording medium. SOLUTION: In the image history keeping system, the image history keeping computers 2, 2 and 2 access the image forming apparatuses 1, 1 and 1 on the basis of the identification information of the apparatuses 1, 1 and 1, request the attribute information of the image data to the apparatus 1, receive the attribute information from the apparatus 1, judge whether or not to request the transmission of the image data corresponding to the attribute information by filtering information, request the image data for which it is judged that the transmission request is needed to the apparatus 1, receive the image data from the apparatus 1 and store and keep them.
