摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage medium using nanocrystal particles, its manufacturing method, and an information storage apparatus. SOLUTION: The information storage medium includes a conductive layer, a lower insulating layer formed on the conductive layer, a nanocrystal layer that is formed on the lower insulating layer and includes conductive nanocrystal particles that can trap charges, and an upper insulting layer formed on the nanocrystal layer. The nanocrystal layer may have a monolayer or multilayer structure. The conductive nanocrystal particles are metal nanoparticles or semiconductor nanoparticles.The metal nanoparticles are formed of at least a metal selected from the group comprising Pt, Pd, Ni, Ru, Co, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Fe, Os, Ph, Ir, Ta, Au, and Ag.
