PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an amount of communication between disk control units at the time when a logical units are connected, and to realize an efficient load management means to disk units. SOLUTION: The RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) control unit performs load management by the number of accesses to disk units to be accessed when the number of the controller module taking charge of the RAID group is one, after the controller module receiving connection indication of the logic unit and taking charge of a logic unit is changed (S24). When two or more controller modules taking charge of the RAID group exist, the RAID control unit performs load management of response time to the disk units to be accessed (S25).
