PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation device which can cure good an ultraviolet curable ink adhered on a recording medium without resulting in the defect of skinning that only a surface of the ink is cured at the time of printing (for example, monochrome color printing) in which a film thickness of the ink adhered to the recording medium becomes relatively thick. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet irradiation devices 190A and 190B are attached to a carriage 50 which carries a printing head 52 that jets the ultraviolet curable ink and equipped with a plurality of ultraviolet light sources 192 and 193 which apply ultraviolet rays to an ink film 196 jetted on a printing sheet of paper P by the printing head 52. The ultraviolet ray 193a of the ultraviolet light source 193 which illuminates on the printing sheet of paper P near the printing head 52 has a wavelength longer than that of the ultraviolet ray 192a of the ultraviolet light source 192 which illuminates on the printing sheet of paper P apart from near the printing head 52 along a movement direction of the carriage 50.
