PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the height of the whole of an electromotive vertical injection molding machine, to reduce the length of a ball screw shaft for raising and lowering an injection device, to smoothly perform the rising and falling operation of the injection device and to simply perform the control of the rising and falling operation of the injection device. SOLUTION: The electromotive vertical injection molding machine 1 includes a pair of the supports 4 erected on the movable platen 3 of a mold clamping device 2, a pair of the guide rails 5 fixed to the respective supports 4 in up and down directions, the injection device 7 supported by the respective guide rails 5 in a freely liftable manner through a direct acting guide and an injection device raising and lowering means 9 for raising and lowering the injection device 7 along the guide rails 5 to bring the injection nozzle 8a of a heating cylinder 8 into contact with the movable mold of the movable platen 3 and separating the same from the movable mold of the movable platen 3. The injection device raising and lowering means 9 includes the ball nut 22 attached to the front plate 11 for holding the heating cylinder 8, the ball screw shaft 20 the upper end part of which is threaded with the ball nut 22 and the lower end part is supported by the movable platen 3 in a freely rotatable manner and a motor 23 with a speed reducer directly connected to the lower end of the ball screw shaft 20 to rotate the ball screw shaft 20.
