PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the trouble that a gripping part with a strong urging force required for securely retaining documents, needs to be opened by a high manipulating force, and in order to diminish such a manipulating force, a long lever is required, yet with an ensuing consideration that the long lever interferes with the manual operation to turn over documents, and further, that an alternative means to adopt a toggle joint contributes only to making the size of the gripper bigger serving as nothing but a cumbersome piece, with a high possibility of the lever becoming hardly foldable. SOLUTION: This gripper comprises: a gripping part 4 having a joint part 3, arms 1 and 2 each extending from both ends of the joint part 3 and an axis 5 arranged at the tip of the arm 1; an eccentric part 6 formed at one end, and a contact part 7 formed in the intermediate section and a finger hooking part 8 at the other end. Further, the gripper has a lever 9 whose one end is supported in a freely rocking manner, centering around the axis 5 and an urging force applied to the tip of the arm 1 and in a direction where the arm 2 is closed. In addition, an eccentric part which is eccentrical from the rocking center of the lever can be effectively used. In the case that the urging force is diminished in order to reduce the manipulating force when the arms 1 and 2 are opened by manipulating the finger hooking part 8 in a first direction, the finger hooking part 8 is manipulated in a second direction so as not to make the finger hooking part 8 an obstacle during carrying the gripper.
