<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing apparatus, capable of suppressing the occurrence of stray light at reproducing and preventing deterioration of SN (signal noise) ratio. <P>SOLUTION: If an incident angle of reference light on an information recording medium (transmission-type disk 119 or reflection-type disk 213) at recording is θ1, the incident angle of the reference light on the information recording medium at reproducing is θ2, and the reincident angle of the reference light on the information recording medium at reproducing is θ3, a first polarizing means (rotating mirror 117 or mirror 212) and a second polarizing means (return rotating mirror 120 or rotating mirror 214) are controlled so as to establish θ1≠θ2 and θ1=θ3 relations. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
