SEA WAR BOARD GAME APPARATUS AND METHOD

The present invention relates to a sea war board game apparatus and a method thereof, comprising: a plurality of pieces having a ship name after ships used in the Imjin War (Japanese invasion of Korea), and set with a predefined movements; a board game plate having a grid shape with a plurality of cross-sectional points of N horizontal lines and M vertical lines; and a plurality of cards. Each team has a single king ship piece from the beginning of the game, and the team will lose the game if the single king ship piece is destroyed, which means the piece is removed from the board game plate. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of pieces comprises: a single king ship piece placed on a cross-sectional point of 2x2; a Japanese Sekibune ship (a type of oared warship used extensively in the Sengoku and Edo periods) capable of moving only a single square forwardly; a turtle ship (Geobukseon; a type of large Korean warship that was used intermittently by the Royal Korean Navy during the Joseon dynasty) capable of moving in four directions; an explosion ship capable of destroying along with the pieces within a predefined range; and a panokseon (an oar- and sail-propelled ship that was the main class of warship used by the Korean Joseon Dynasty) capable of moving in four directions which requires using one turn for a direction change. The ships are allowed to attack with cannons and rifles. According to the present invention, a user of any age and gender is able to enjoy the board game, along with improved understanding of history.
