PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To write data and an error detection code in a magnetic disk immediately after the error detection code is generated form data. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk controller is provided with an interface, a first buffer and a second buffer for storing temporarily data to be written in a first sector of a magnetic disk, a modulating part for modulating data to modulation data indicating a signal to be applied to the magnetic disk, and a buffer control part reading data from the other side of a buffer during data is written in at least one side of the buffer out of the first buffer and the second buffer, and the data is stored again in the other side of the buffer after modulation by the modulating part, then, data width M between the modulating part and the first buffer and the second buffer is twice or more of data width N between the interface and the first buffer and the second buffer.
