PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generating device which can acquire the effect of superimposing of ink, while reducing the processing load. SOLUTION: The image generating device rectifies the rendering color of each image element, based on a rule defined beforehand by accepting descriptive information which describes a plurality of image elements which serve as objects of rendering and referring to the accepted descriptive information concerned. When at least one of the color components of the rendering color of each rectified image element concerned matches the condition defined beforehand, the image generating device sets the color component corresponding to the conditions as a prescribed value; renders each image element with the rendering color set; and generates an image constituted of pixels. When the image element which is to be rendered with a rendering color containing a color component serving as a prescribed value is rendered in superimposed with other image elements, the image generating device performs rendering, without overwriting regarding the color of the color component used as the prescribed value from among the rendering color of the other image elements.
