PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: in an image blur compensation apparatus equipped with a moving frame movable on a plane orthogonal to the optical axis of a compensation lens, the moving frame rotates even when the movement of the moving frame in a thrust direction is limited, then, the output of a position detector obtained in this case causes an error, while the moving frame is moved until the movement in a first direction and a second direction is limited, and when the reference position of the moving frame is set based on the output of the position detector obtained at that time, the reference position of the moving frame causes deviation. SOLUTION: The image blur compensation apparatus is provided with a stopper 9 for limiting the movement of the moving frame 3 in the first direction X on the extension line of the center F1 of the thrust generated by a first motor-driven actuator 6, and also, limiting the movement of the moving frame 3 in the second direction Y on the extension line of the center F2 of the thrust generated by a second motor-driven actuator 7.
