The method involves measuring test parameters of a test circuit (3) of an electronic printed circuit board (15) with components for monitoring pins (9,11). The test parameters are compared with reference parameters. One of the pins of the circuit is subjected with direct current voltage source and/or discharging unit (1) in relation to remaining pins. A measurement spectrum is obtained by a temporal current process and/or a potential gradient in the unit. The comparison of the spectrum with a reference spectrum of a sample part is used for interpretation of cause of failures of the circuit. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting production errors in an electronic printed circuit board.
