The housing (1) has a knock sensor (12) for producing signals (28) representing a combustion performance. A drill-hole (16) is guided from a housing wall (14) to a housing interior space. An acoustically conductive transmitting medium (18) e.g. metal pin, arranged in the drill-hole acoustically couples the sensor arranged outside at the housing. The drill-hole is provided in a crankshaft wall (15) and extends to a crankshaft main bearing (10), where the acoustically conductive transmitting medium and the knock sensor form a structural unit.
