EYE CLOSURE DETECTION APPARATUS, DOZE DETECTION APPARATUS, EYE CLOSURE DETECTION METHOD, AND PROGRAM FOR EYE CLOSURE DETECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye closure detection apparatus, a doze detection apparatus, an eye closure detection method, and a program for eye closure detection that can detect eye positions even if nostrils cannot be detected in an eye detection apparatus for estimating eye positions from nostril positions.

SOLUTION: The eye closure detection apparatus 10, which has a nostril position determination means 12b for determining nostril positions from feature points extracted from a face image and an opening/closing detection means 12d for setting eyeball tracking areas based on the nostril positions and searching for eyes in the eyeball tracking areas, is provided with a mouth position determination means 12c for determining a mouth position if nostrils cannot be detected. The opening/closing detection means 12d sets eyeball tracking areas based on the mouth position and searches for eyes in the eyeball tracking areas.
