<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To handle an ultrasonic motor in the same manner as motors with linear input/output characteristics by additionally constituting a circuit with simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: A phase difference controller 13 in the controlling circuit 11 of the ultrasonic motor includes a linear conversion circuit 13a converting an input signal, and a phase difference controlling circuit 13b to generate a control signal to an ultrasonic motor USM on receipt of the signal from the linear conversion circuit.
