<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for electric power steering apparatus capable of suppressing occurrence of torque ripples, vibrations and abnormal noise by compensating the phase delay by an advance angle map, and compensating the detected phase error. <P>SOLUTION: A control device for an electric power steering apparatus which performs the drive control of a motor for providing the steering assist force to a steering system by the vector control system according to a current command value computed based on the steering torque and the vehicle speed has an advance angle map 41 for compensating the phase lag occurring in a motor current relative to the current command value.
