PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument that applies operation of a plurality of steps to an electrical signal, based on a measured physical quantity, and improves the reliability by determining the abnormality of an arithmetic result, carrying out restoring of the abnormality, and returning the instrument to normal operation. SOLUTION: The measuring instrument for applying the operation of the plurality of steps with respect to the electrical signal, based on the measured physical quantity comprises a determining means for determining the abnormality of the operation result of each step from among the plurality of steps, and a restoring means for restoring the abnormality of the operation result, based on the result of the determining means.
