PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vigilance estimation apparatus capable of highly accurately estimating vigilance even when there is precipitation. SOLUTION: The vigilance estimation apparatus 1 for estimating the vigilance of a subject comprises: a feature amount extraction means 12 for extracting a feature amount changed corresponding to the vigilance of the subject; estimation means 13, 14 and 15 for estimating the vigilance of the subject on the basis of the feature amount extracted in the feature amount extraction means 12; and precipitation state acquisition means 3 and 10 for detecting a precipitation state. The estimation means 13, 14 and 15 easily estimate that the vigilance of the subject is high when the precipitation detected in the precipitation state acquisition means 3 and 10 is great compared to the case that it is little.
