<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming high-quality images (realizing high image quality), while having a constitution that forms latent images, by using one polygon mirror for a plurality of image carriers. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus which forms an image on a recording medium includes a plurality of image carriers to respectively carry respective color latent images constituting the image; a rotating polygon mirror for respectively deflecting at least two image light beams of the image light beams that form the respective color latent images to the image carriers, corresponding to at least two image light beams out of the plurality of image carriers; a detection part for detecting the writing-start position of the respective color latent images in a subscanning direction; and a control part for controlling the rotating speed of the plurality of image carriers, based on the results of detection by the detection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
