PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound free from phosphorus and sulfur, and useful as a lubricating additive to increase a friction coefficient and regulate the friction of e.g. a wet clutch to an optimum level and to provide a friction regulating agent composed of the compound and a lubricating composition containing the agent. SOLUTION: The invention provides a cyclopentadienyl molybdenum hexacarbonyl complex obtained by the reaction of pentamethylcyclopentadienyllithium with molybdenum hexacarbonyl, a friction regulating agent composed of the complex and a lubricating composition containing the friction regulating agent.
