PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable display effect to contents to be viewed by a user at the start or end timing of a text of the contents. SOLUTION: In an effect provision part 30 in a television 10, a contents deciding part 31 decides whether a display effect is to be provided to contents or not, a contents specification part 32 monitors the appearance of an opening video stored in a specific data storage part 36 on the contents, and when deciding that a text of the appearing contents is started, an effect display part 23 provides a display effect for opening a curtain to the contents.
