PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact active matrix liquid crystal display device small in power consumption for boosting the voltage of a scanning signal. SOLUTION: In one booster circuit 210 included in a gate booster circuit of the liquid crystal display device, a delay signal generating circuit 213 and a logic inverting circuit 214 turn on and off first to third analog switches 211a to 211c in proper timing with first to third switch control signals Sa to Sc to perform what is called charge pump operation for a capacity element 212 connected to a scanning signal line GL1. Thus, the one booster circuit only drives the one scanning signal line, so the capacity element for charge pumping may be sized to be formed on a TFT substrate.
