PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral tube having high heat exchanger effectiveness and a heat exchanger using the same. SOLUTION: This spiral tube 10 constitutes a groove portion integrally formed by an inner face and an outer face of a tube of a prescribed thickness, and the groove portion is continuously spirally formed on an outer periphery of the tube. The groove portion has the waveform on a cross-sectional face of the spiral tube 10, and a projecting peak portion 11 of a tubular part radially most separating from a tube axis by the groove portion is formed on a position not agreed with a center C of a period W of the groove portion. Here, the projecting peak portion 11 separates from the center C by 0.15-0.45 W, in particular, it preferably exists on a position in the advancing direction F of the fluid passing inside of the tube with respect to the center C.
