PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent particle having excellent preservation stability such as anti-caking properties and inhibition of bleeding of a surfactant, and to provide a detergent composition containing the detergent particles. SOLUTION: The detergent particles contain (b) 1-25 pts.mass of a layered clay mineral having 1-80μm average particle diameter, and (c) a surface modifier based on (a) 100 pts.mass of base detergent particles, wherein the intermediate layer containing the layered clay mineral (b) is formed on the surface of the base detergent particles (a), and the surface modifier (c) is added on the intermediate layer.
