APPARATUS FOR LIQUID AMMONIA DECOMPOSITION IN GASEOUS NITROGEN AND HYDROGEN

摘要

A compact apparatus for the thermophysical catalytic resolution of liquid ammonia (pressure 10 bar) to produce hydrogen and nitrogen at the gas state. The apparatus uses three reactors placed in cascade, the first two reactors carrying out a thermocatalytic resolution, and the third reactor being a microwave resonator. Hydrogen adapted to supply alkaline fuel cells is obtained after crossing a scrubber. The equipment on board of the vehicles allows the generation of electric energy for car drive with a yield of 12,000 kJ/kg NH₃.
