PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary self-traveling endoscope for which the curving operation of the curve part of the endoscope can be performed with a sufficient angle even in a deep part inside a body cavity, operability and insertability into the body cavity are excellent, and the curving mechanism of an insertion part is manufactured at a low cost, and a rotary self-traveling endoscope apparatus. SOLUTION: The rotary self-traveling endoscope apparatus comprises: an insertion part main body 10 to be inserted into the body cavity; a rotary cylindrical body 51 freely turnably provided on the outer periphery of the insertion part main body, whose surface is in a spiral shape; a turning means 16 for turning the rotary cylindrical body to the insertion part main body; fluid function parts 38, 40, 81 and 70 provided on the distal end of the insertion part main body to act on the body cavity by the supply and discharge of a fluid; and fluid supply/discharge means 54 and 55 for supplying and discharging a prescribed fluid to/from the fluid function parts.
