PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoist machine device of an elevator capable of obtaining an optimum friction coefficient complying with an overseas standard (EN standard), on adopting a thin diameter rope. SOLUTION: In the hoist machine device of the elevator provided with a plurality of ropes 5 connected to the elevator, sheaves 8 around which the ropes 5 are wrapped at their middle positions and a motor for driving the sheaves 8, the diameter of the ropes 5 is 5 to 7 mm and the diameter of the sheaves 8 is 200 to 280 mm and a V-groove 11 having an undercut 11a is provided for the sheave 8.
