<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce torque necessary for moving a developer conveying member. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming unit has: a cleaning device for removing developer remaining on the surface of an image carrier after transfer; the developer conveying member for conveying the developer removed by the cleaning device while the developer is contained in a plurality of recessed parts; a developer collecting part for collecting and containing the developer; and a scraping conveying member for feeding the developer conveyed by the developer conveying member to the developer collecting part. The scraping conveying member is equipped with a hook part for scraping the developer in each recessed part. Since the scraping conveying member is equipped with the hook part for scraping the developer in each recessed part, the developer contained in the recessed part is effectively scraped without being pressed on the inner peripheral surface of the recessed part.
