PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable debugging of a virtual machine by executing an application on the virtual machine, even when the virtual machine has no function for application debugging. SOLUTION: Information for debugging the application to be executed on the virtual machine and information for monitoring the execution of the virtual machine, including an address of an interpreter of the virtual machine, are obtained and stored in a memory means. Based on the information for monitoring the virtual machine execution, the execution of the interpreter of the virtual machine is monitored. The code address of the application to be processed next by the interpreter of the virtual machine is compared with the information for debugging the application.
