PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform display of black and white even if there is a temperature difference within a display region. SOLUTION: A CPU 111 calculates an average value (representative value) of the temperature values of a plurality of temperature sensors 150A to 150E, and outputs the calculated average value to a display material driving control circuit 115. The display material driving control circuit 115 sets the time intervals of a selection period based on the average value, and outputs the set time intervals to a display material driving circuit 130. On receiving the time intervals, the display material driving circuit 130 determine the time intervals as the accepted time intervals and applies the voltage to a data line when applying the voltage to the data line.
