The method involves scanning of a patient (7) with a tomography system. A three-dimensional tomographic image data set of a part of a patient is reconstructed and the spatial position and condition of vertebrae is determined. Medically relevant intersecting planes are automatically determined according to earlier defined diagnostic problems relative to position, orientation and expansion of spine diagnostics. The sectional images of the relevant intersecting planes are created and displayed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a tomography system with a computing and control unit, which has a memory for program code (2) a display screen workstation with an arithmetic unit, which has a memory for program code. |
